Background
Magnesium Hydride (MgH₂) has been studied as a potential rocket fuel component due to its high hydrogen content, energy density, and reactivity. See the summary as follows -

Project Goals
The goal of this project is as follows -
Using thermodynamic principles, derive the specific impulse value for MgH₂. This can be compared with existing literature.
If the numbers are encouraging, we want to purchase MgH₂ and test a solid rocket motor with it.
If MgH₂ cannot be acquired from the market, we want to manufacture it. So we would need to check out the available production methods, and setup a small lab to manufacture the same.
We have carried out solid rocket motor testing using Sucrose + KNO3 before, so we can help you design the rocket motor once MgH₂ has been acquired/manufactured
